Foundations Program (Intro to Lifting & CrossFit)
At Crossover Athletics, we believe that a strong foundation is essential for success in any fitness journey. Our Foundations program is designed to introduce you to the fundamental movements and principles of lifting and CrossFit, ensuring you develop a solid base before progressing to more advanced techniques.
In this program, you’ll learn proper form and technique for key lifts, gain an understanding of how to safely incorporate functional movements into your workouts, and build the confidence to tackle more challenging workouts. Our experienced coaches are dedicated to providing personalized instruction, helping you master each movement at your own pace.
Whether you’re brand new to fitness or transitioning from another training style, our Foundations program is the perfect way to get started. We focus on creating a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome and empowered to reach their goals.
In our Foundations program, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of functional training principles. We’ll introduce and refine your technique while discussing range of motion requirements for essential movements, including:
- Squats: Air squat, front squat, overhead squat
- Presses: Shoulder press, push press, push jerk
- Power Movements: Deadlift, sumo deadlift, medicine ball clean
- Olympic Movements: Clean and jerk, snatch
- Gymnastics: Pull-ups, push-ups, burpees, dips, handstands, wall walks, and more
- Other Common Movements: Thrusters, wall balls, kettlebell swings, rowing, box jumps, and jump rope
This foundational knowledge will prepare you for more advanced training and enhance your overall fitness.

At Crossover Athletics, our adult classes are designed for individuals of all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes. Each class features a dynamic and varied workout, known as a WOD (Workout of the Day), which combines strength training, cardio, and functional movements to help you achieve your fitness goals.
Our experienced coaches lead each session, providing personalized instruction and modifications to ensure that everyone can participate and progress safely. You’ll learn essential foundational movements, including squats, deadlifts, presses, and Olympic lifts, while also incorporating elements of gymnastics, mobility, and conditioning.
These workouts are thoughtfully crafted to improve overall fitness, build strength, enhance mobility, and develop gymnastic skills, all while fostering a sense of community. You’ll gain confidence in your abilities and feel empowered to challenge yourself as you progress.
Our WODs at Crossover Athletics are thoughtfully crafted by Carolyn Collins, a National Strength and Conditioning Coach. Carolyn employs a hybrid of training techniques and disciplines to ensure that your workouts are balanced and effective. Each session incorporates essential SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) drills and movements across multiple planes—frontal, transverse, and sagittal—while utilizing periodization concepts to enhance your performance.
The programming covers a comprehensive range of fitness elements, including conditioning, hypertrophy, strength, and power, along with a variety of accessory movements. This approach creates a well-rounded program that addresses all aspects of fitness.
Warm-ups are specifically designed for the workout of the day, preparing you for the exercises ahead. Each WOD also features Benchmark workouts, one-rep max tests, and various techniques to help you gauge your progress. To support your journey, you’ll receive a book to track your WODs and weights, allowing you to monitor your improvements and stay motivated.

CrossFit for Kids Classes (ages 8-11)
At Crossover Athletics, our CrossFit Kids program is designed for kids aged 8 to 11, welcoming both seasoned young athletes and those new to fitness. Strength & Conditioning for Teens (ages 12-16)

At Crossover Athletics, our coaches bring a wealth of experience in training individuals of all ages and fitness levels, thanks in part to the mentorship of world-renowned trainer Christine Girard. A Gold Medal Olympian from the 2012 London Olympics and a Bronze Medalist from the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Christine has shared her exceptional teaching skills with our coaches, ensuring they deliver high-quality instruction in proper technique, form, and lifting progressions. With an emphasis on mastering proper technique and form, our coaches are dedicated to helping you excel in your lifting journey.
