Owner, NSCA Personal Trainer, & Rehabilitation Specialist

Carolyn Collins brings over 25 years of expertise in fitness and wellness to Crossover Athletics. As the founder and owner, Carolyn combines her extensive background in personal training, CrossFit, and rehabilitation to offer a holistic approach to fitness. With advanced certifications in CrossFit Level 1 & 2, as well as training from gold and bronze medalist Christine Girard, certified in sports nutrition and fat loss, Carolyn excels in guiding clients through tailored fitness and rehabilitation programs. Her commitment to injury prevention, personalized coaching, and fostering a supportive community ensures that every member at Crossover Athletics can achieve their best self.  Carolyn  started her business in 2005, owns her building and is not going anywhere. 

Phaedra Banks

BCPRA Certified Personal Trainer/ CrossFit Level 1&2 Coach

Phaedra Banks is an accomplished Personal Trainer at Crossover Athletics, known for her dedication to helping clients reach their fitness goals. With a strong background in personal training, Phaedra excels at designing personalized workout programs that address individual needs and fitness levels. She takes great joy in seeing members achieve personal records (PRs) and encourages them to step outside their comfort zones to explore new challenges. Her approach combines motivation, education, and expert guidance to foster lasting results. Phaedra is passionate about creating a positive and supportive environment where clients feel empowered to achieve their best.

Dr. Jasmine Kim (Dr. Jaz)

Naturopathic Doctor (ND)/ CrossFit Coach Level 1/ Kinesiologist

Dr. Jasmine Kim, known as Dr. Jaz, is a Naturopathic Doctor at Crossover Athletics, bringing a holistic approach to health and wellness. With a background in naturopathic medicine and extensive training in integrative health practices, Dr. Jaz specializes in personalized care that addresses the root causes of health issues. She is dedicated to helping clients achieve optimal well-being through natural therapies, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care. Dr. Jaz is passionate about empowering individuals to take control of their health and enhance their quality of life with evidence-based, natural solutions.

Lauren Venema

Personal Trainer/ CrossFit Level 1 Coach
Lauren Venema is a dynamic Personal Trainer at Crossover Athletics, specializing in group fitness classes for all ages, including kids and teens. With a passion for fostering a love of fitness in young people, Lauren enjoys creating engaging and energetic classes that inspire and motivate. As a mother of two girls herself, she understands the importance of encouraging a healthy lifestyle from an early age. Lauren’s commitment to group coaching and her enthusiasm for working with families make her a cherished member of the Crossover Athletics team.

Sheana Lehigh

Registered Physiotherapist, BScPT/ FCAMPT/ *CGIMS

Sheana is a skilled Physiotherapist at Crossover Athletics, with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of British Columbia. Her extensive experience includes private practice, international work in New Zealand and the UK, and hospital settings. Specializing in chronic pain, orthopaedic, manual, and sports physiotherapy, Sheana holds IMS certification and a Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Beyond her clinical work, Sheana is passionate about ballet, yoga, hiking, skiing, biking, and swimming. She also serves as a clinical placement instructor and mentor for physiotherapy students.

Melissa Fulton

Kinesiologist
Melissa Fulton is the newest addition to the Crossover Athletics team, bringing her expertise as a Kinesiologist with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, specializing in Kinesiology. She is a member of BCAK and CKA, holds a certification in Soft Tissue Release Level 1, and is working towards her CSEP Pre & Postnatal Exercise Specialization. Melissa is passionate about weight training, horseback riding, archery, and exploring new cocktails. She finds inspiration in her job, her supportive family, and witnessing clients’ significant progress, especially after injuries or during pregnancy. Melissa’s enthusiasm for fitness and dedication to her clients make her a valuable asset to our team.

Andrew Tinkl

Coach

Since joining Crossover Athletics South Surrey (formerly CrossFit South Surrey) in 2017, Coach Andrew has been a dedicated member of our community. Andrew is currently earning his CrossFit Level 1 certification while continuing to practice and refine his coaching skills. His deep passion for fitness and his commitment to helping others shine through in every session.

Summer Skarich

Coach
Summer is a dedicated fitness professional with a CrossFit Level 1 certification and an impending Personal Training Certification. Her diverse interests span soccer, CrossFit, volleyball, and various boating activities, alongside a love for nature, hiking, and travel. Passionate about painting and connecting with loved ones, Summer finds inspiration in the daily learning experiences life offers. She is driven by competition, personal growth, and the support of her family and friends. In her real estate career, she excels at building loyal client relationships and guiding them through transformative property transactions, finding fulfillment in each step of the journey.

Rachel Hendry

CrossFit Coach/ Kinesiologist/ Personal Trainer

Rachel Hendry is a dedicated CrossFit coach, kinesiologist, and personal trainer with a robust background that includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, nursing experience, and various fitness certifications. Passionate about Olympic lifting, she thrives on helping individuals of all ages achieve their fitness goals, whether it’s enhancing strength, improving overall health, or alleviating pain. Rachel finds deep fulfillment in witnessing her clients’ progress and commitment, inspired by their resilience in overcoming physical and emotional challenges. Her work is driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact on each client’s fitness journey.
